KingShare — Share Documents
KingShare lets you share any document in your project with a single click — no export, no attachment, no login required for the recipient.
How to Share a Document
- Open KingShare from the KingDesk title bar
- Browse your project files in the file tree
- Click Share next to any document
- Copy the public link and send it
The recipient opens the link in any browser. No KingDesk installation needed.
Public share links are valid for 7 days by default. For internal team viewing, use the KingShare popup window instead — it stays active as long as you have the session open.
What the Viewer Sees
When someone opens your shared link, they see a clean document viewer with no editing controls.
Supported formats:
| Format | How it renders |
|---|---|
Markdown (.md) | Formatted document with headings, tables, code blocks |
| Embedded PDF viewer | |
| Word, Excel, PowerPoint | Microsoft Office online viewer |
| HWP / HWPX | Converted HTML view |
| Images | Direct image display |
OG cards (for Slack, Teams, KakaoTalk previews) are generated automatically from the document's title and description.
Team Sharing vs. Public Sharing
| Team sharing (KingShare popup) | Public link | |
|---|---|---|
| Who can view | You and your team (logged in) | Anyone with the link |
| Login required | Yes | No |
| Expires | Active while session is open | 7 days |
| Best for | Screen sharing in meetings | Sending to clients or stakeholders |
Presentation Mode
KingShare opens as a standalone popup window — separate from the KingDesk editor. This makes it ideal for screen sharing in video calls.
Share your KingShare window instead of your entire screen. Your editor, terminal, and private files stay hidden.
What KingShare Does Not Do
KingShare is a viewer and sharing tool only.
- No file uploads from the viewer
- No editing from the viewer
- No file deletion from the viewer
To manage files, use KingDesk directly.
Private Folder Protection
Your __Private/ folder is never visible in KingShare when viewed by others. Only you can see your own private files.
